>>>>> MESSAGE FROM TR’KHELLIAN <<<<<

Attention Chief of Security/Second Officer, Avandar, Blake, Sky, Lieutenant Commander

Pursuant to Starfleet General Order VL section 12. Paragraph B, please take this as my official notation for the record that on 238912.07 you did terminate a crucial stage of an ongoing intelligence investigation. While I understand completely your reticence to assist a junior officer of the Intelligence branch based on your unfortunate experiences, I am concerned that your bias could be misconstrued by outside observers and could compromise the entire case. Worse, and I add this only out of concern for you, it could be postulated that you may be involved in some form or fashion with the potential security threat. I of course do not feel this is the case but my hope is that you take this notation in the spirit it was intended.

Respectfully submitted.

Intelligence Officer, Avandar, tr’Khellian, S’Lone, Lieutenant Junior Grade

<<<<< END MESSAGE >>>>>

:: Waiting 60 seconds (enough time for Blake to read the notation, tr’Khellian looked up, caught her eye, and smiled the most warm, gentle, and genuine smile.::

oOtr’Khellian: Bon appetit! Oo

::His smile was by no way returned. Sky knew what he was doing. She wasn’t stupid, not to mention that she had dated an Intelligence officer once before, so she knew how most of them worked, especially when it came to their work. She glared at tr’Khellian, shaking her head slowly. So, the Chief of Security, who was *not*, by any chance whatsoever, happy with tr’Khellian’s actions, pushed to reply on the console.::

oOtr’Khellian: conpete tuam fatam!Oo

>>>>> MESSAGE FROM BLAKE <<<<<

Attention Intelligence Officer, Avandar, S’Lone, tr’Khellian, Lieutenant Junior Grade

Due to the lack of evidence provided, the request to use members of the Security department on what could have been either pointless or extremely dangerous was denied. The Chief of Security is not compromised and is not being what you described to be blackmailed, nor is her attitude towards Lieutenant JG tr’Khellian “vicious” due to previous circumstances. Lieutenant Commander Blake already logged that there was no official request that followed standard procedure to use her officers, and was merely a ‘request’ over a last-minute communications call. Thus, no action by the Security and Tactical department was taken.

The Chief of Security also determined that there was no evidence to support an immediate threat to the ship, otherwise the Security and or Tactical department would have taken immediate action. An investigation regarding the strange message that was sent to/from the ship has been ordered, and no further action has been taken at this time. The Chief of Security advices the Intelligence department to provide more evidence before an attempt to immediately use, without request, the Security department.

Regards,

Chief of Security/Second Officer, Avandar, Blake, Skyleena, Lieutenant Commander

::tr’Khellian read her counter with gusto...savouring it like a good vintage port. After reading it he glanced up, nodded in respect and tapped out a reply::

>>>>> MESSAGE FROM TR’KHELLIAN <<<<<

Addendum.

It is a shame that we potentially lost the best lead to date on a threat to the ship’s security and well-being. I hope this episode has brought us together in ways which are in the future positive and constructive. It may be that the Marines aboard the ship are better suited for such sophisticated and complex missions.

Intelligence Officer, Avandar, tr’Khellian, S’Lone, Lieutenant Junior Grade

::tr’Khellian then quickly types out an informal message and sends it to Blake’s padd’s temporary memory.::

<<<<< END MESSAGE >>>>>

::Ignoring tr’Khellian’s expression completely, Sky merely shook her head at herself as she read both of the replies. She narrowed her eyes, still not trusting the Intelligence officer of whom she classed as “un-trustworthy”. So, first, she replied to the *formal* message.::

>>>>> MESSAGE FROM BLAKE <<<<<

As a full and exact report was not sent to the Chief of Security in advance, there was no such possibility of a threat, and the Security department did not detect one. As stated previous messages, the Security department has launched an investigation regarding the strange messages sent to/from the USS Avandar.

As there is no current senior staff member in charge of the Marine department, the First Officer, Lieutenant Commander Dickens, becomes the de facto department head. If the Intelligence department wishes to request the use of the Marine Contingent, that decision is to be and will be made by Commander Dickens. Regardless, the Security department will continue its investigation involving the messages.

Regards,

Chief of Security/Second Officer, Avandar, Blake, Skyleena, Lieutenant Commander

oOtr’Khellian: Nicely played. Oo

::And then, as a final, unofficial message to the Intelligence Officer, Sky replied to the message that wouldn’t be logged in the system.::

::Stretching his left arm and shoulder and feeling invigorated by the conflict, S’Lone turns his complete attention to his panel and begins slogging through the routine dispatches::

::Simultaneously he mentally begins building then vetting then deconstructing the steps to get him from Mars to Terra and back again.::
