SIM:Romyana Casparian - Prologue
Cadet Romyana Casparian, a Human female with a part Vulcan lineage, had just arrived on the Starbase and after checking in to the Academy dependance, she was trying to find her way around the huge space station. She was looking for a place to get a warm drink before her Final Academy Test would begin - the last hurdle to take before becoming a commissioned Starfleet officer.
She found herself in front of a double sliding door with white bold letters painted on it, Lounge.
Cadet Casparian tentatively enters through the double sliding doors and takes a good look around at the people in the lounge as she cautiously approaches the bar. When the bartender makes eye contact she places her order.
Casparian: Raktajino please.
She scans the room for a free table to sit at but also wonders if it may be better to just join someone else and start a conversation. How else would she get to know the people on this Star Base?
Mason heard a quiet shuffle due to the Kerelian's enhanced hearing and glanced her way. The Human looked like she was trying to make sense of her surroundings which he gathered that the cadet was new. Which was more than obvious as he approached her with a nice, soft smile.
Mason Meznik: The famous Klingon coffee at your service, cadet! I do hope that you're enjoying your time here already. What's your name?
Casparian immediately felt reassured by the positive attitude of the bartender. Perhaps all the people on this Star Base were equally nice and there would be no reason to be anxious. She gave the Kerelian a quick nervous smile.
Casparian: Thank you. Casparian. My name is Romyana Casparian. Nice to meet you.
Still a bit unsure, she stared at the bar top for a moment.
Casparian: And ehm, what is yours?
German Galven: Well that's a rather interesting name! ::dons his signature Denobulan wide grin:: I was in the back getting ready to take Mason's place and I just couldn't help myself when I heard there was another cadet here. ::chuckles::
The sudden presence from the Denobulan scientist threw Mason since he was preoccupied with making Casparian's order. Once he finished, he turned to set the mug on the table in front of her.
Mason Meznik: Your Klingon specialty drink, Casparian. I'm Mason Meznik. Also a cadet!
German arched both eyebrows when he realized something that he read earlier in the reports. He grasped a towel from behind the bar and wiped his hands off after cleaning himself up at the small sink in the corner next to the wide variety of alcoholic beverages that sat on the countertop.
German Galven: And I'm German Galven. Pleased to meet you! I just read in the Academy training report for today that actually you two and a couple other cadets will be having your final exams at some point. I bet you're excited to get things ready!
Casparian: Yes, very excited indeed, Mr Galven. I have been reading up on as many topics as possible during the 3 hour transport journey here, went straight to roll call, and now felt that I had earnt myself a coffee.
She turned to the tall Kerelian Cadet.
Casparian: I did not see you at roll call, Meznik. Maybe I don't remember properly... However, while she said that, Casparian was sure she would remember someone with such a nice soft smile. She took the coffee mug in both hands, closed her eyes and took a big sip.
Casparian: Ahh, I really needed that.
Mason Meznik: ::smirks:: I'm glad you like it.
German was thrilled that the cadets seemed to be getting along already. He made some more drinks for the other patrons that came in and then heard from the bar as he was walking back that a chirp from a PADD had gone off. Mason was already there reading what the message was saying.
German Galven: What's the message about, Mason?
Mason Meznik: It looks like the class is about to begin. I need to go back to my quarters and change. ::turns quickly to Casparian before leaving:: I'll see you in there! The Denobulan chuckled and shook his head as he saw the Kerelian bolt out through the sliding door.
As he returned to the bar, German took the towel and started wiping down the counter and spoke to the cadet, still looking down.
German Galven: I fondly remember when I was a cadet almost two years ago this July. ::glances up at Casparian:: Just do whatever you can, be careful and listen to what all is said. Oh and one more thing. Have fun! ::grins that wide Denobulan grin::
Casparian knew the Denobulan was trying to make her feel less nervous and boost her confidence. And that huge smile was a bit creepy, she did not really know where to look.
Casparian: I will, thank you for the advice, Sir!
She took the coffee, found a table at a window and sat to drink the remainder whilst quietly gazing at the stars thinking how fortunate she was to be here and have a chance to become part of Starfleet. All she had to do was pass the Final Exam.
oO The message said, Holodeck 32. No idea where it is, but I will find it...somehow. Oo
When she had finished the Raktajino, she brought the empty mug to the recycling unit and set off to the holodecks.
