History
From their earliest recorded records theirs has been a world of conflict, confusion and turmoil. Fortunately most of their wars have been small, more like border skirmishes or conflicts between small factions.
Surprisingly enough they continued to develop at a fairly steady pace, even if that pace seems to have been so incredibly much slower than most other species.
Eventually they made the technological leap into outer space, this lead to their making contact with other species, developing trade deals and making enemies as well.
Even this has not put a complete stop to the numerous internal conflicts that they seem to be constantly plagued with. Fortunately for them they have not had to engage in a war with any other species, however most experts seem to agree that it may only be a matter of time before this does happen.
Various species and governments including the Federation has complained about suspected piracy attacks and other illegal activities but due to the fragmented nature of their government this issue has continued to be unsolvable by themselves.
Government
They have a fragmented government with various regions of their planet ruled by different factions. Even within those different regions there is conflict between members of the same faction. As a result there is a general confusion and chaotic instability that usually reigns over much of their world as a result.
Description
This humanoid species has two distinct heads with brutish features, each with its own brain, personality and intellectual ability. On average they stand between 6' and 6’4”. The males tend to have a thick muscular torso, legs and arms while the females are less muscular but still seemingly masculine based on their body shape and development. The males have thick shaggy eyebrows, often a uni-brow, wild, shaggy hair and coarse facial features while the females tend to have softer more feminine features.
Physiology
As with most intelligent humanoid species they have a very complex system with specialized organs, and unique hormones, chemicals and enzymes. They are typical humanoids with most of the physical, mental and biological medical problems that seem to plague most humanoids.
They have two distinct brains inside two different heads, with different personalities and intellectual capabilities. Some experts think this may be the reason they have such slow reflexes although this does not seem to matter as they have an incredibly high pain threshold. Added to this is the fact that they all seem to be very big and very strong. They can take a punch and in many cases ignore it and while they may be slow their hand to hand combat capabilities added to their excellent ability to co-ordinate their attack is excellent.
Psychology
For some reason a larger than expected number of Malgorians seem to suffer from some type of mental health issue. Most experts believe this may be a side effect of the bizarre nature of their unique bi-polar existence.
Religion
The Malgorians have a deep seated respect for and fear of the divine duality of Scrzitzz, the unusual being that created them and gifted them with life. One half of him was evil incarnate and the other half was a beacon of goodness and love. The two halves have been constantly at war since the dawn of creation, each striving to defeat the other.
Mythology
They have a number of early creation and duality tales that explain how everything came to be and why they are like they are with two distinct personalities and intellects trapped in two heads on a single body.
Society
As might be expected of a complete civilization made up of individuals with two distinct personalities, the Malgorians communities are a jumble of ill planned, confusing structures and infrastructures. There are many dead end streets, zones with low power, no power, low water, no water, etc.
None of their communities have any intrinsic beauty in their design or layouts and tenements, burnt out buildings and those that just caved in due to poor design and or construction are everywhere. This adds to the overall gritty, messy, dirty feeling that seems to encompassed every zone with some worse than others.
Culture
They have less of an interest in most forms of artistic expression than one would expect for an intellectual humanoid species. Some experts believe this may be as a result of their two personalities being unable to agree on anything. However it could also be simply another aspect of their unusual bi-polar mentalities.
Customs
Not surprisingly even their customs tend to be a confusing mess of traditions, customs and beliefs. When added to the dual personalities in every citizen it becomes even more confusing as each personality may adhere to different traditions, customs and beliefs.
Technology
They have always developed at an incredibly slow pace. Since learning how to build effective space craft this has been enhanced by their willingness to trade or steal new advanced forms of technology.
Economy
Due to the chaotic nature of their planetary government some of the larger factions have managed to procure and sustain long term trade deals that have improved the quality of life for their people. Unfortunately most of them have not been this successful and some have never been able to establish the positive off world contacts needed to be able to establish trade of any kind.
Military
They have no real military although they do have a large number of warships purchased from other species or custom built in one of the three shipyards they have available to them. Unfortunately at this time the largest ship they can construct in these ship yards is basically a light cruiser.
Currently approximately half of their fleet is purchased for other species and the other half is made up of vessels constructed using a couple dozen different blueprints for each class of vessel constructed. All in all that have approximately 60 ships at this time.
Federation Intelligence Files
The Malgorians are a two-headed species known for their inability to make up their minds.
Mullibok compared Major Kira Nerys to a two-headed Malgorian because she was divided about the forced removal of Bajoran farmers from Bajor's fifth moon, Jeraddo, so that its molten core could be tapped as an energy source.
