Keyla knows exactly what races her parents were, but she couldn't remember her mother at all. She was told that her mother and her father were seperated, and Keyla lived with her father for a time. After an accident that presumably led to his death, Keyla was handed to the Romulan Empire as an infant, and has been with them since.
