Deep Space 285 is stationed in the Avalon Sector, under the command of Cmdr. Nicholas Dane. It is the primary support station for USS Discovery-B and is home of Epsilon Program Lab, one of two state-of-the-art facilities specializing in Deep Space exploration and cybernetics development. It is strategically located near a dangerous but traversable region of space known to locales as the [ma:Briar_Patch|Briar Patch]], which was the site of the disappearance of the USS Voyager and near the home of the Ba'ku
