Rivi Vataix/2442

Mother Perennial Rivi Vataix is the 80-year-old matriarch of the Eleventh House of Betazed, a former Federation Council member, and a former Federation ambassador.

After serving as a Federation Ambassador, Rivi Vataix returned to Betazed shortly after Wil's death in 2401, which affected her greatly. With the Delta Quadrant no longer a safe place to raise her children, she and Tidrid returned to their home on Betazed. However, her time as a civil servant meant that Rivi remained restless and unwilling to return to the life of a mere socialite. She began taking a more prominent role in the Betazed government and in 2416, she was elected to represent Betazed on the Federation Council. There, she worked to advance both Betazed's agenda while also trying to avert growing hostilities with the Tholian-Sheliak "Lattice Alliance." The latter ultimately was unable to be achieved when after years of skirmishes, outright war finally broke out in the 2420s. When her mother Naminaae Vataix passed away in 2428, Rivi returned to Betazed to assume leadership of the Eleventh House of Betazed as matriarch.
