USS Astraeus NCC-70652

Much larger and more expansive than the Sickbays on 1st flight Galaxy class starships as they were when originally launched in the mid 24th century, the Astraeus is equipped with a massive mobile hospital in the saucer section along with smaller auxiliary medical bays, several of which are mirrored in the Stardrive section. Led by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), a Senior Officer, and crewed by various Doctors and Nurses, it is responsible for the physical and mental well being of both the crew, and any life forms the Astraeus is tasked with caring for.

The primary Sickbay consists of two levels in the Astraeus saucer, including both treatment facilities and medical research laboratories. When possible, the medical staff are crewed on the same deck as the facilities in which they work, as the two decks which primary Sickbay occupies, Decks 12 and 13, are both very large and include crew quarters as well.
