Personal History
Katja was born and raised on the Trill homeworld. She never wanted for anything, and lived the good life throughout her childhood. When she was 17, her best friend passed, and her entire world changed. Depression set in, despite her activities and impeding joining. To those around her, she seemed normal, but her mind had wandered and she had made the decision to leave the planet once her joining was complete.
Once away from the source of her pain, she found something to spend her time on, which eventually led her to Starfleet. At first, she was hesitant to join, but after considering her options, she soon embraced the idea. It would turn out to be the best choice that she had made since her friend’s death.
