Personal History

  • 235407.26 (0) Born in Manchester, England.

- A healthy first and, ultimatly, last child for John and Carol Keating. They have high expectations for Philip - he will make a great lawyer and do great deeds.

  • 236401.22 (10) School in Manchester, England

- Although performing well at school tests, the young Philip Keating appears to have problems participating in group activities. The theory of the psychiatrists is an inner trauma to do with the child's early years. This is later found to be false and just over-nervousness.

  • 2372.09.05 (18) Starfleet Academy, America

- At age 18 Philip had made up his mind to be one of the brave Starfleet, following in the noble footsteps of Zephram Cochran, Tomas Archer and James T. Kirk. His parents disagree and point out his steps should be much more Earthbound and preferably in libraries. Philip rebels and leaves to make his way to America. A day later, with ripped clothes and no food, he returns. John and Carol see this as some show of resolve for being in Starfleet and decide to relent on the lawyer angle. If worst comes to worst, he could fail at Starfleet and then be a lawyer.

  • 2379.03.12 (25) Starfleet Acadamy, America

- Philip hasn't failed at Starfleet. He paid attention to his studies and found himself fascinated all the more with starships and the people on them. He did well but not excellent in his studies, quietly envying the people who did better than him, but knowing things could always be worse and remembering the people below him. People are still a cause of slight concern for Philip, still being a bit nervous in large groups. Nobody thinks it is inner trauma any more. Having passed his final test, he heads out into space a confident young man.
