The USS Vesta was an Intrepid class starship which went missing in 2377. Three years later, Starfleet came across a distress call passed along by a private trader which revealed that the Vesta was 1,000 light years off her course.
The USS Victory was sent to investigate where they found the ship inside a starship graveyard. They learned that the Vesta had received a distress call from a pair of Romulan ships. The Vesta was overpowered by the Lycanthropes quickly, and the ship became a three year battleground between the surviving Starfleet officers and the Lycanthropes along with their spider pets. The survivors were evacuated to the Victory.
