Nissa is the youngest of the two girls born to Andros and Alexi De’vil. Growing up Nissa idolized her older sister and aspired to follow her own dream of joining Starfleet and making a difference. Nissa by all accounts was the black sheep of the family, and Natalie the perfect daughter who could do no wrong. Nissa thought of Starfleet as her salvation, a way to distance herself from her parent’s judgment and a chance to bond with her sister without their parents shadowing their every move.
