A race of humanoids known for their artistic abilities and technical ineptitude. Berellian artworks are quite treasured. Physically, they are tall humanoids with elongated fingers and feet. A male of this race once lost to Jake in a game of Dom-jot, though Jake's girlfriend Mardah called the game a hustle.

The Berellians apparently are very inept in dealing with machinery, as Christopher Hobson claimed that no one would think of making a Berellian an engineer as no one would think of making a Klingon a counselor. With these examples he wanted to prove his point, that an android like Data could not be a good captain, when Data was designated to take command of the USS Sutherland. (TNG: "Redemption II")
