((Officer's Mess, USS Apollo))

Tel-ar: Unlike a very good friend of mine Ensign, I had not planned to seduce you and carry you off.

Vid-Lotilija: It's...WHAT? ::She coughed watching him in awe then closed her eyes. This simple statement brought to her some old and painful memories. No matter how it ended and how their relationship grew positive, she will never forget how Rendet Ter'th treated her in the beginning, forcing her into submission. Repeating his sentence in her thoughts she started to laugh.:: Thank you, that's probably why I feel comfortable with you.

Tel-ar: Be that as it may. I am usually the last person anyone would consider as a potential friend.

Vid-Lotilija: A-ha. Even you had a friend on Academy. ::She watched him under the eye grabbing a bite of her food. There was the point of her extended time there, but he surely knew that. She was sure he knew everything about her; nevertheless, this was part of her bio available to everyone.::

Tel-ar: Regardless I do believe that you should speak to the ships councillor.

Vid-Lotilija: Are you checking me? ::She was supposed to visit counselor, even had a kind of feeling of duty attached to it, until she saw him on the Captain's dinner. Vulcan. How to discuss her feelings with a Vulcan?:: Don't make me, please!

Tel-ar: I am afraid that I will have to make that an order Ensign. The well being of the entire ship and its crew come before any personnel considerations.

::Vid-Lotilija stared at him silently with a knot in her stomach, feeling defeated. Feeling betrayed.::

Vid-Lotilija: You pulled a rank on me. ::She rise her hand stopping him before he could say a word.:: Sometimes, Commander. ::She sobbed, her voice trembling.:: Shrapnel in a bone will cause much less damage than a wound from removing it ever would.

Tel-ar: I will of course understand if you wish to cancel my inclusion into your skiing activities.

::She was trembling inside and felt like crying, but though hurt or rather because of being shaken she responded cold and emotionless.::

Vid-Lotilija: I love skiing, but I'm not a good skier. I'm even worse in getting up when falling. I guess as Andorian, you must be good, so I still want you along. ::She touched few pieces on her tray and moved the plate back to the tray with the rest of her untouched food.::

Tel-ar: Honestly, while I may not agree with all the touchy, feely mentality that most councillors seem to be taught, I can not argue their skill and expertise when it comes to assisting those who need their help.

Vid-Lotilija: I don't need help. oOEspecially don't need one Vulcan to tell me how to cope with my emotional baggage.Oo But I will follow orders, as always. ::Her voice was still slow, low and without any modulation.:: I'll visit counselor after the holodeck. oOBest time if I want to be dismissed fast, since he should be on a briefing in the morning just like me.Oo

Tel-ar: I believe that my response is not just that of a senior officer but could also be considered that of a friend. After all both care about the well being of others.

Vid-Lotilija: Yea. oOWait! Did he just said he actually cares?Oo Maybe you're right. I just have a problem opening to anyone, especially those who so want me to tell them what they want to know. ::She shrugged smirking.:: Say, the counselors.

::She checked the chronometer and pointed it to Tal.::

Vid-Lotilija: Five minutes, shall we go? ::She didn't expect so much talking during the dinner, especially as stressful as it was. Feeling hungry she took her tray back to replicator, but kept pudding and ate it walking toward the turbolift.::

::When they reached holodeck it was still 2 minutes till 1930 and it was in use. Vid-Lotilija turned to Tal and shrugged.::

Tel-ar: Did you have a particular program in mind for this evening?

Vid-Lotilija: Yes, my plan was to make two dives, nothing wild, just to blow out. As calm as I was over the Borg scout, I have to admit, I don't like it aboard.

Tel-ar: That is understandable. ::Obviously she had a lot on her mind. Understandable considering what he had read in her file. As a result he had no problem asking again which ski program she had selected.:: If I may ask, which program did you select?

Vid-Lotilija: Alpe d'Huez slope in Sarenne. It's black slope in its upper segment and very fast, what makes it easy to pass that part of the track and turns into transport in its lower part. I tend to drive slowly in the upper part, gaining speed only in the last part of black slope, to keep speed in the slower segment.

Tel-ar: I remember that slope. My room mate from the Academy took me there on leave one summer.

Vid-Lotilija: I never visited actual slope. ::She bowed her head, feeling unsettling talking about her time on Academy. Fortunately the holodeck doors opened and young couple exited laughing. They greeted them wishing good time and left fast still laughing, discussing their adventure.::

Tel-Ar: After you Ensign. ::Tal stated calmly as he stood waiting for her to enter first.::

((Holodeck))

::Vid-Lotilija entered and called for the program. When it activated she walked through snow to the small shack. There she chose Parisian blue ski suit, same color medium soft ski boots and skies only 10 cm longer than her height. When got suit and boots on she turned to Tal.::

Tel-ar: Are you ready? ::Tal asked.::

Vid-Lotilija: How do I look? ::Teasingly.::

Tel-ar: Your selection is both practical and feminine. It suits you. ::Tal was not sure if that was the correct answer. It was what he would have said to his wife.::

Vid-Lotilija: I always choose dark colors. Something unusual on holodeck, but logical if you think... "logically". Makes you easier to find if you fall...

Tel-ar: In that respect I believe your selection is the perfect choice.

Vid-Lotilija: You plan to fall? ::She watched him with feigned surprise on her face? But seeing his reaction she couldn't keep serious face too long and started to laugh.::

Tel-ar: No. I was not. However the computer provided me with my normal winter selection.
