239612.20: Arrives DS26, immediately transferred to USS Atlantis to fill a vacant position
Background
Patrick Callahan, or Pat as most call him, was born in Denver to a wonderful family of Irish descent. Pat was a very popular kid and got along well with others. While attending Cochran High School at Denver, he joined the school’s Parisses Squares team and was a star player, though his team never made it past the regional finals. While still in his senior year, a Starfleet recruiter visited his school and Pat was immediately intrigued by the idea. After discussing it with his parents, he returned to the recruiter the next day to sign up for the Academy program. Having determined his scores were sufficient for the program, the recruiter took the young man. He had a two week break following graduation to say farewell to his friends and family and then transported to San Francisco. Having done well in several areas, his advisor suggested he apply for the Duty Officer position until he had served some time on a starship and found a spot he felt he would truly enjoy. Following the woman’s advice, he filled out his application. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Deep Space 26 in the Par’tha Expanse, which was severely shorthanded following an attempted takeover by hostile forces in the region. No sooner had he reported to the station Commander then he was immediately transferred to the USS Atlantis to fill a vacant position on that ship. Excited by the prospect of serving on a starship rather than some remote space station, he eagerly collected his possessions and reported for duty. Two days later, they departed for the Valcarian Empire on a diplomatic mission.
Personality
A natural introvert, Pat has worked hard his entire life to be open and friendly with everyone. Pat has never met anyone he didn’t like which has gone a long way to getting them to like him. He loves serving in Starfleet and really likes the crew he is serving with. It is still very early in his career, but he is on the lookout for the perfect duty assignment.
