What do your edits marked cate mean?
This means I've added, changed, or removed categories.
What do your edits marked NC mean?
This is short hand for "naming convention". If you see NC as noted reason for a page move, it's likely that I've moved a page that doesn't conform to our standard naming practices - often this is because it's using the old [Surname, Given name] format, other times it's simply because a page name is either misleading, too long, or players looking for it wouldn't find it very easily.
What do your edits marked MFD mean?
This is short hand for "marked for deletion", as those images will also have the Template:Delete displayed. If the image was uploaded to the wiki before Jan 1st, 2020 (AEST), and is not currently displayed on a page, I've likely marked it for deletion. If I've added the delete template to your image, but you wish to keep it, edit the image page and remove {{delete}} ASAP.
Alternatively, if you see an image that is in the deletion category, and you have a way to utilise it, please do, and remove the {{delete}} template.
What do your edits marked LC mean?
This is short hand for "lacking categories", meaning I've likely added the Lacking categories template because I'm unable to determine an appropriate category for the page or image I've come across.
What is the difference between the templates stub and Expansion needed?
Length. Pages with Template:Expansion needed are long enough to be sufficient on their own, but may be expanded upon with new information from each ship (if you've encountered a species from the ILI for example, you can go ahead and add this new information so long as you reference what sim that information comes from).
Stubs are typically very short and lack useful information pertaining to the article.
Why have you marked pages as "stubs"?
If I've gone ahead and added Template:stub to a page, it is lacking information regarding the topic or is simply too short (only one or two sentences long) to be it's own specific page right now. You can edit a page to add more information, and therefore remove {{stub}} from the top of the page.
Can I use other people's page structure/take stuff from other people's pages?
Yes you can. Feel free to "borrow" wiki code from whoever or whatever page on the wiki to set up a page how you like.
However, be aware that if you take code/content from somewhere other than the SB118 wiki, attribute the content to them or try to ask them if you can use it.
How do I get the same thing on all pages without having to edit all the pages?
You can create a template, which can be displayed on all pages but edited only from it's source. These can be created by making a page named Template:[name]. They can be displayed by typing {{[name]}}. They're edited like any other page.
My character page uses the Surname, Given-name convention.
This needs to be changed so your page can be linked through the roster templates (and its easier for your fellow simmers to include the page in their bios).
All simmers whom have a user account on our wiki can move their pages - this can be done by clicking the move tab next to history (for power users/administrators, this is next to the delete button - please don't accidentally delete pages). Enter your characters name in the correct format, be sure to tick "Move subpages" assuming you have the option, and the wiki will move your page to the correct title, leaving a redirect behind.
Note, if you untick the "Leave a redirect behind" box, there may be redlinks on other pages if you're a returning player.
