Stevie was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA on Earth. Her father was an engineer in Starfleet, which is where he met Stevie’s mom while stationed on Betazed. Stevie has three younger brothers, the youngest was an unexpected, but loved and welcome addition to the family.
She attended St. Joseph’s academy, a Catholic girls school in Baton Rouge, where she played basketball and quiz bowl, and filmed games for the volleyball team. Outside of school she participated in outdoor sports with her dad and brothers. She also played drums, electric bass, and trombone. Due to an unexpected circumstance, she missed her junior year with her class, but returned to school the following school year completed her junior and senior years, graduating one year later than expected. After graduation she attended Louisiana State University where she majored in engineering and minored in music.
After graduation from LSU with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, she enrolled in the engineering graduate program at Arizona State University. Once she completed her masters she applied to Starfleet Academy and was accepted on her second try. While attending the academy she became involved in the off campus music scene. Especially the group that was into the music of 1970’s and ’80’s Earth.
Upon graduating from Starfleet Academy, Stevie hopes to be assigned to the engineering dept of a deep space vessel that will offer the most challenges. She stays in contact with her family and her daughter who lives in Baton Rouge with her parents and brothers. Stevie’s father is retired from service, but still serves in a consultant capacity and adjunct instructor at Starfleet Academy.
