Stats

Appearance

  • Height: 1.9m
  • Weight: Approximately 65kg.
  • Hair Colour: Black
  • Length of Hair: Short, typical Vulcan hairstyle.
  • Eye Colour: Blue
  • Skin Tone: Light
  • Birthmarks, Scars: None on record.
  • Tattoos/Body Modifications: None.
  • Build: Quite thin, broad shoulders.
  • Carriage: Quite often in a hurry, reasonably long strides. Will usually slow down to the pace of whomever he is walking with however.
  • Poses: Usually holding something, typically a cup of Vulcan Spice Tea and/or a PADD. Otherwise, arms are either behind back or folded.
  • Taste in Clothing (when off duty): Either uniform or traditional robes. Does not seem to generally understand the meaning of the words "Shore Leave" or "Off Duty".
  • Shoes: Black, polished
  • Voice: Measured.
  • Handedness: Favours Right-hand but is able to use Left.

Manner

  • Quarters: See below
  • Favourite Room: Has no "favourite", but tends to spend a lot of time in Quarters and in Main Engineering.
  • Mannerisms: Tends to focus on Logic but known to lapse on occassion. Is known to use humour accidentally but has little grasp of the concept.
  • Physical Limitations: Stronger than most due to being Vulcan but not good in extreme heat after spending many years on Andor.
  • Temperment: Tries to suppress emotions, thus can seem arrogant at times. Known to be more emotional than most Vulcans but is gradually gaining more control, despite occassional lapses. Expected to have major temperment problems roughly once every seven years.
  • Habits: Drinks a lot of Vulcan Spice Tea. Usually has a PADD to work on, even when off duty.
  • Religion/Spiritual Devotion: The Teachings of Surak.

Family

Salak has a typical Vulcan family although the nature of their environments have impacted each persons personality. Vorak is a traditionalist, whilst T'Plar is a more caring, typically motherly figure who does suppress her emotions but not to the extent that most Vulcans would. T'Pel is yet to really grasp logic and has little control over emotions, partially due to an upbringing on Andor away from any Vulcans with the exception of her family.

Note that Salak has no arranged mate.

Spouse

  • Marital Status: Single
    • Spouse: N/A
    • Place of Marriage: N/A

Children

Salak currently has no children.

Vorak (Father)

A Diplomat at the Vulcan Embassy on Andor.

T'Plar (Mother)

A Vulcan exobiologist based on Andoria.

Siblings

T'Pel

T'Pel is Salak's oldest sister, 11 years younger than Salak.

Medical History

Very little of Salak's medical records before his enrolment in Starfleet are available, and he is not forthcoming with specifics. It is not on record whether Salak had gone through the Pon Farr before the academy, or suffered any illness in his youth on Andoria.

His medical history during his time in Starfleet is well documented however, but is so far a fairly quiet file. Salak is not a regular visitor to sickbay and has a history of needing to be chased to attend Physicals. He rarely visits in cases of minor injury, citing reasons of logic.

Salak remained Chief Engineer of the USS Wallace until it was decommissioned in April 2383. His next posting was as Chief Engineer on the USS Independence.

USS Independence (2383)

Quarters (Room 04-????)

On Deck 4.

Chief Engineers Office

An annex of Main Engineering, Salak's office on the Independence bore many of the features of it's counterpart on the Wallace. The section contains a long curved desk, approximately half of which is taken up by a console. The other half is a flat surface used to place PADD's and Salak's usual cup of Spice Tea. Behind the desk is a curved window of transparent aluminium giving a clear view of the Warp Core. A long console fills the wall opposite this window, with the end of the section occupied by a replicator terminal, bio-neural gel packs, a relay and access to the Jefferies Tube network.

Deep Space 17 (2381-2383)

Quarters

Little used during Salak's initial time at Deep Space 17 and the USS Wallace, Salak was forced to use his quarters on DS17 after the events of mid-2382. More spacious than his quarters on the Wallace, the room is more airy and spartan; with minimal decoration. The lighting is similar to that of his quarters on the Wallace.

USS Wallace (2381-2383)

Quarters (Room 03-2921)

Deck 3, Section 29, Compartment 21. Salak's Quarters were reasonably small but comfortable. Salak kept his work on a desk close to the door, whilst he kept a meditation lamp on a shelf near by. There was a small table in the middle of the main room upon which he placed the lamp during meditation. The lighting was dark, with tints of purple.

Chief Engineers Office

Salak had an office on Deck 8 which consisted of little more than an Alcove in Engineering. The office contained multiple computer access terminals along with a desk which was frequently cluttered with PADD's.

Subordinates

As Chief Engineer of the USS Wallace, Salak was the Senior Officer for the Engineering department of the vessel and thus members of the department were his sub-ordinates. Due to the nature of the vessel, the Engineering department was usually divided into Teams, a system Salak would later use on other vessels.

Salak's Assistant Chief on Wallace was Ensign McLoughlin. Upon the Independence, his new assistant was Ensign Culan and he also worked alongside Indy veteran Chief King until the vessels destruction.

Guilds & Duty Post Groups

Salak is a member of the Guild of Vulcans, the Readers Guild and the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, Starbase 118 Division
