Hi, I replaced the Nav box on Aurora's page. The one you edited is actually a generic model made by User:Sky Blake for you and others to copy the code and paste when you make a NEW Nav box template for your character. The new Nav box is Template:JamesAuroraNav. I also changed the colors to match science blue. –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh 19:50, 11 December 2013 (CST)
- No worries! It's the only way to learn. In general, though, just be cautious about editing a very generically named page or template as chances are it's named that way because it's being used generically/widely by others as well. Also, you can sign your messages on talk pages by adding four tildes ~~~~ at the end. –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman/MCpt. Kadosh 19:58, 11 December 2013 (CST)
On a different note, I'm happy that someone's found it and decided to use the templates! XD Sky Blake (talk) 19:49, 21 January 2014 (CST)
User Page
Sure thing. The plan to follow I'd say is to just start small and work from there. I started my user page as if it were a character page (thus, the stats section and the service record table). I slowly then modified tables and sections as needed to fit me the writer rather than one of my characters.
An easy way you could start is just copy and past your character's bio into your user page but then just edit it for you now instead of Skyfire. –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 14:30, 9 February 2014 (CST)

LOA listing
Hi there! Saw that you added a LOA listing for the Excalibur. To change the style of the roster for LOA listings, simply add LOA before the officer listing and the person will become a LOA listing with a darker background. Put these LOA officers under the new division labeled LOA.:
|{{hr|LOA}} |{{LOA|Lieutenant JG|Alden|Cuthbert|Gold|LOA began 239103.26|CuthbertAvatar.jpg|STYLE=Slanted}}
Insignia | Rank/Title | Portrait | Character Name | Duty Post |
---|---|---|---|---|
Leave of Absence | ||||
Lieutenant JG |
Cuthbert |
LOA began 239103.26 |
When the officer returns, simply remove LOA before their rank and put them back up in the division (command, medical, science, etc) that they belong. You can also change their assignment posting to instead a note of when their LOA began as seen above. More instructions on how to use Template:Roster are available here.

Done. Thanks, Rich. I don't know how I missed that the first time. Chythar Daniel Skyfire (talk) 19:49, 26 March 2014 (CDT)
- No worries. Remember, though, you need to reply to messages on the other person's talk page, not your own, for them to get a notice that you sent them a message. :) Unless of course they stalk the recent changes page like me. –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 21:01, 26 March 2014 (CDT)
Re: Recent Changes Stalking
I just edit the page and complain about what I had to do or get annoyed with something in the summary. :P I still don't know why I do that to this day. Sky Blake (talk) 22:26, 26 March 2014 (CDT)

Extended transcript
I've received a request from someone else for an extended transcript beyond 60 credits. When it's finished, I'll send you the link. Is this person basically adding on an additional year? –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 13:26, 28 May 2014 (CDT)
- Where exactly are they planning to put the extra classes if not in an additional year? Right now, it's following the Academy "rules" of a max of 5 credits a semester/15 credits max a year. Can you find out what they mean exactly? –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 13:41, 28 May 2014 (CDT)
- Sure, I don't see why not. I think that's what Wesley Crusher and Icheb did. How many credits? –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 23:05, 2 June 2014 (CDT)
- I'm fine with setting up a custom template to give an extra 12 credit hours or however many, but I don't want to open the door to going beyond the "rules" that were already laid out for the Academy course load in terms of the maximum amount per semester. It was previously 4 before the expansion to 5. If we allow it to 6 or more, it
- a) involves a lot of recoding of the templates and
- b) makes it unfair to the other simmers in our fleet who've set up their characters within those rules so as not to create an overpowered (or "overeducated") character. Like I said, more education is fine, but they would either need to accept laying it out across the required time constraints (so if 12 credits, then maybe 4 credits across 3 semesters either before their official start or as I suggested earlier, a fifth year). –Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman 00:42, 3 June 2014 (CDT)

Discovery-B crew history
It appears the Discovery-B crew history along with several other pages were inappropriately moved to become the new Discovery-C crew history page, etc... grrr... I have restored them to their last state as Discovery-B pages, although they are a bit messy since the wiki software updates since then have made some of the coding for the tables obsolete. You are welcome to clean them up if you wish. ◄ Rich(talk page) aka Lt.Cmdr. Rahman ♫ 15:48, 23 June 2014 (CDT)
- Word of caution - I'm under the impression that the Discovery-B's crew history also includes that of the original Discovery and the Disc-A. (I don't believe the Disc-B was commissioned in 2380, and I was under the impression that Waltas was it's first and only captain, not including that Mitchell as Acting CO, but I could be very wrong). Anyway, thought I'd give you the heads up. Deliera (talk) 18:39, 23 June 2014 (CDT)

Challenger-A
Heya! As an old Challenger Alum, I'm letting you know we were all transferred in 2388 (Reid took an LOA before he was placed on the Drake, and he was placed there because there was no Challenger to go back to).
Also: Theo Casey and Hannah Martinez were/are PNPCs (Martinez is still active).
Officers off the top of my head (but there's probably a heap more that I don't remember/know about):
- Jesse Lawn (FO with Tel-ar)
- Moran Jatam
- Dero Goi
- Tobias Walker
- Maya Gemini
- Darius Mando

You are so awesome! I didn't even know there was an LCARS template! I may switch to that when I'm feeling more adventurous, but since it's currently pretty darn late and I should probably be in bed (or catching up on my SIMs, I used the KISS method and added it to the extra on my nav. Thank you for suggesting that! I didn't think I'd like the look of it at first, but I totally do! Strangely, I decided it wasn't too late to change all of the links on my nav bar to teal... So, if you're wanting to use these Sidebars with that info, I have a question for you: Where would you want that info to show up? Would you want it in the white middle box? in the top section? in the bottom section? I can put it wherever you like. I won't get to it tonight, but I should have time tomorrow afternoon. -Jack of All Treks (talk) 17:35, 7 August 2014 (CDT):Turns out I did have time tonight, so I added them to the white section. Kolk =/\= (talk) 17:50, 25 November 2014 (CST)== Template:SIMNav ==No, it doesn't automatically add itself to all your sims; you'd have to add it to each page individually, sorry. You could put them into whatever order you want, I suppose. I designed it to simplify the nav I'd put on the bottom of my sims before, and I try to put Stardates on the top of my sims when putting them on the wiki so that I can put them into chronological. If you wanted to put them in alphabetical order, you could do that too; it just seems to me that chronological would make the most sense to the reader. -Jack of All Treks (talk) 07:46, 8 August 2014 (CDT):Absolutely! That's the beauty of all of these templates: you can easily use the same template repeatedly for the same character while reflecting changes in rank, position, ship, etc. between each sim. -Jack of All Treks (talk) 23:53, 9 August 2014 (CDT):: As it stands right now, the sim would have to be on the wiki to work with the nav because the coding for links to outside pages is quite different. I might, theoretically, be able to finagle a way to make it work, but it would be rather complicated and there's no guarantee that the outside link(s) would be or remain reachable to our wiki users, so it would be best to put whatever sims you want saved for posterity onto the wiki. -Jack of All Treks (talk) 18:22, 10 August 2014 (CDT)== ribbons rack ==You forgot the 1.
