Hello! — I'm Ryan (He/They) and I write for the character Doz Finch. Say hello on discord: thelovelycorpse#5400 File:DOZFINCH CIRCLE.png Ensign Doz Finch 62-year-old Human Engineering Officer (USS Gorkon) Doz Finch is a Human who hails from the english city of Birmingham, on Earth. It was never her dream to become an engineer like her brothers and father; left behind to care for her miserable mother, she reluctantly read manuals and learned how to repair household appliances, robots and other bits of technology, until it became apparent to her that she could use her skills to escape her situation. Encouraged by her best friend Murphy, she catapulted herself into an enlisted career, leaving her grim life behind. Forty years on, and with the loss of her beloved friend Murphy, she takes an offer to commission and start anew——though droplets of the life she left behind begin to reemerge. As a writer, I have always preferred to tell the stories of older characters with what I call 'hard to shift personalities'. Coming into 118 presents a challenge in that we all begin (with our characters) at the rank of Ensign, and so with Doz I was able to navigate past this with her enlisted backstory. She is presently my only character, though I'm really looking forward to building more of a menagerie. Favourite film franchise(s)? The Alien franchise and the Hunger Games films. Favourite all time film? Matilda! Do you have a favourite Star Trek series or film? VOY & PIC (Big Janeway fan here) Favourite episode(s)? Year of Hell 1&2, Dark Frontier, Prototype (to name a few). What are your goals at Starbase 118? I intend to continue learning from other writers here at the group, to become better at simming, and to build a menagerie of characters that I love and keep coming back to.
