Flora

Derma

Classification: Weed - The Derma is a flowering plant with leaves edged in white that produces a tubular root. The Derma oil used in the Laudean Birthing Ritual as described in Laudean Rituals & Customs is taken from this root.

Foreo

Classification: Fruit - The Foreo plant is native to the province of Bryque. It is used in the making of Bryque Province Coffee.

Guyver

Classification: Fruit - The Guyver is native to Duronis II, and not dissimilar to an earth mango, with a pale white flesh and no stone at the centre, rather there are tiny seeds throughout (the entirety could be eaten). The skin of the guyver is a thick leather-like coating which must be cut off and is usually kept and used to make material. It is also very hard to find when it is out of season. (sim 128). Material is for garments and the Season is March - May.

Irchis

Classification: Flowering plant - The Irchis bush is a flowering shrub native to the area around the city of Eaven. It is cultivated and traded afield as an exotic garden plant.

It has attractive flowers that are cerulean blue when they open, changing to lavender and finally fading to white just before they fall. The flowers have a very pleasant scent.

Minevra

Classification: Weed - The Minevra plant produces a miniture sized flower similar to Earth's sunflower, but because it is deemed "utterly useless" with no medicinal or aesthetic value, it is termed a weed. However, the Laudeans use it as part of their development of their Fielding powers. Zalkonian research has recently made a startling discovery about the Minevra plant. As well as blocking Fielding abilities, it also blocks all telepathy. Betazoids are especially suseptible to its effect. Too much exposure could kill them, and the stronger the telepathic ability, the stronger the effects.

"All Laudean women have to drink two cups of Minevra tea everyday. It's made from the Minervra plant that grows in the Providence of Damodara (see Duronis Physical Geography ), but the tea can be found any City markets. She start before beginning the second month when the child will start the accelerated growth. She will need a fielding to help her throughout the pregnancy." -Paetra Zrong

Savo

Classification: Vegetable - Savo, a tubular vegetable, has a thick husk covering the meaty center. The taste is much like potatoes, but spicy and somewhat hot as mild peppers. Served raw, it is a chopped ingredient in salads. Cooked version are often served as a stand alone side dish to marine life.

Fauna

==Pletrok== - Classification: Grazing animal - Pletroks live in the mountainous areas of Til'han, grazing on grasses and the lowest evergreen branches. They are as large as Earth's moose, but look like a horse with short spiraled horns. These split-hoofed creatures have a predominately silvery-gray coat that is emphasized by a silky white mane and tail.

==Surrilian Monkat== - Classification: primate - Surrilian Monkats are very rare animals found only in small family groupings on Duronis II. A primate-feline mix in appearance, they are highly developed and are the only creature other than the Laudeans to have a connection to the Fielding.

They are small creatures, approximatly 40cm tall, and appear to be a cross between a small primate and a small feline. They have the apparant human-like features of a primate, small hands and feet, but with large ears and highly alert eyes. They also have a feline-like face with whiskers, the colouring varying from a charcoal grey to a tan. Semi-sentient, they can communicate with one another telepathically, and have limited telepathic ability with other telepathic beings.

==Tsiri Bird== - Classification: Bird - A species of small song-bird native to the island of Lokesh City, it has a long, intricate tail feathers like a bird of paradise and different sub species have different colours of plumage, but all are bright and eye-catching.

==Claka== - Classification: Marine Life - Claka is a crustation, somewhat like shrimp, harvested near the coastal regions of Duronis II. Their large size, and being readily available, make them a stable in most Laudean households once dehydrated and smoked.
