Cru'ela
The native born Mirians live in or near their capitol city of Cru'ela. This is located on the largest continent Atlantium. It is situated on the east coast, on the north side of a large fresh water river. The land around it is fairly flat and extremely fertile. To the north about 32 km away are some mountains and to the south about 28 km away is a rugged terrain of dense woodlands and rough ground.
This is the location of the first contact between the Federation and the survivors of the original colony on Miri IV. See Starfleet records File: Miri - 2266-2847-ENT for a complete record of the USS Enteprise actions on the surface of the planet at this time.
The city itself holds about 50,000 and appears to be a Terran city from the 20th century. It's previously decayed infrastructure and neglected buildings have mostly been repaired. The only trully new buildings in the city are the hospital, univerity and the Miri Government structure.
The rest of the 250,000 Mirians are scattered along the banks of the large river that runs from the coast inland into the interior. Their is a lot of river traffic and it is large enought that most boats can travel up to 187 km inland.
To the north of the city at the base of the mountains is a major mining community.
Government Buildings
In the heart of the city are 5 large new buildings that have replaced those that were there before. These buildings are the new hospital, university, central administrative building, Cru'ela city hall and in the center is the Miri Planetary Council building.
The Cru'ela city hall is a large white stone structure that holds the Mirian colony leader. He is responsible for the development and day to day business of the city proper. Before they opened their planet up for settlement this was the only government building. At this time all of the various responsabilities and powers of the government for the entire planet was run out of this building. Now it is responsible only for the city and it's outlying areas.
After enough new immigrants had arrived it became evident that they would have to change, adjust their government to reflect the new planetary population makeup. This resulted in the creation of the Miri Planetary Council and construction was started on a new, larger complex to house that Council.
The Miri Planetary Council building is a wide spacious structure of white stone. They finished construction in 2380. Their are offices for 75 possible councilors. Each councilors area has 5 offices, one for them, a reception room and 3 rooms for assistants or anything they might need them for. The central council chamber is huge, it has desks and chairs for 72 councilors and 1 assistant each. Then their are the 3 central Senior Councilor seats which are off by themselves in the center of the north wall.
Their are also 3 observation balconies that can hold up to 100 people at one time.
The two different government buildings face each other and are seperated by about 300 meters. In the middle between them are 20 shuttle pad landing zones, 10 on each side of a long wide walkway that connects the two buildings. The rest of the area is taken up with well groomed parks and neat pathways.
Councilors
The native Mirians have 9 representatives on the central planetary council. Of these 9, 3 are considered the senior councilors and preside over all the meetings. These are Mordon Mandel, Natasha Kirinoff and Liam O'Keefe.
The Terran colony representative from Europa is Edgar Brice who is a 47 year old teacher. He stands about 6'1" and weights about 160 lbs. He has short sandy hair short through with gray. His blue eyes are steady. He can be very forceful and tends to speak his mind.
The Denobulan colony representative from Drubin is Peria Miash who is a 35 year old doctor. She stands about 5'8" and weights about 130 lbs. She is cheerful, with a bright smile and active eyes. She loves to chat but her obvious intelligence is always active. She is a master of the quizical comment that seems to accidently bring out more info than others wanted to reveal.
The Bolian colony representative from Bomar is Gorin Bith who is a 39 year old architect. He is about 5'10" and weights about 180 lbs. He is jovial, friendly, with a sharp wit and active mind. He tends to be more persuasive in his approach to dealing with his fellow councilors.
The Tellarite colony representative from Swin'hoggs is Terin Wart who is a 54 year old ex-freighter captain. He is 5'9" and weights 212 lbs with an abrasive temper, abusive manner and loud opinions. As loud and unstable as he may act, Wart is in reality a cunning and effective politician.
The Caitians colony representative from Ssar'venaa is Urgit Purrin who is a 49 year old warrior who has retired from Starfleet. He was a marine. He is 6'1" and weights about 190 lbs. His tan fur is striped with black and dark brown markings. His tail seems to be constantly in motion while he can sit for what seems hours just staring. He watches and listens, considering all angles before he acts or speaks.
The Deltans colony representative from Eros is Dara Alphro who is a 38 year old administator. She is 5'10" and weights about 135 lbs. She tends to be very quiet but when she does speak it is in an authorative manner matched only by her eloquince. She keeps most of the others at arms length but is all for a co-operative solution to their problems.
The Andorians colony representative from Ando is Thimi Shen Tovir who is a 41 year old scientist/clan leader. She is tall, 6' and about 160 lbs. She has long waist length white braided hair, wears traditional Andorian robes and is a fierce driven woman. Even thou the Andorian colony tends to be isolationists they recognize the need to be active within the newly formed Planetary Council.
