Patrick's direct supervisor, Keneth Nakada is a frequent source of friction. Patrick is dismissive of Keneth's abilities and unconvinced by his promotion. He believes he knows better and doesn't hesitate to say so. This leads to discontent and frequent disagreements.
(Personality)
Patrick is incredibly arrogant. He has four degrees and believes his own intelligence is vastly superior to others. He frequently dismisses Starfleet officers, including those with more experience than him. He is also a Federation isolationist and nationalist and believes that the Treaty of Algernon was a mistake. He believes the Federation should cede nothing.
He's also a technologist and believes Starfleet performs no work of value and that the organization should be automated and resources redirected to ground based scientific research.
