The USS Independence-B (NCC-1776-B) is a Defiant class starship launched in 2398 and assigned as a support vessel to Amity Outpost. Although the ship is a Starfleet vessel, it is officially assigned for use by the Federation Diplomatic Corps and under the command of Amity Outpost's chief of mission, Ambassador Rivi Vataix.
