The Ophiucus star is a class V main sequence star, type G (yellow spectrum) with a stellar mass of about 1 (in relation to Sol)
Location
- Ophiucus star system is located in the Trinity Sector. This space sector is divided almost equally between the Federation, Klingon and Romulan Empires. Ophiucus is approximately 4 lightyears from Starbase 118 in the direction of Epsilon Outpost #11. Of the 2 star systems virtually side by side it is the one closest to Starbase 118.
Ophiucus I
- it's orbit is approximately 33 million km from it's star
- a hot rock ball of a dwarf planet with a diameter of 1273.5 km (791.5 miles).
- a density of 5.3
- a gravity of 0.096 G's
- no atmosphere
Ophiucus II
- it's orbit is approximately 60 million km from it's star
- a hostile greenhouse planet with a diameter of 7,044.8km (4,378.4 miles).
- a density of 5.6
- a gravity of 0.56 G's
- an atmosphere made up primarily of carbon oxides
- it has 3 tiny moons
Ophiucus III
- it's orbit is approximately 112 million km from it's star
- a hostile greenhouse planet with a diameter of 7,044.8km (4,378.4 miles).
- a density of 5.6
- a gravity of 0.56 G's
- an atmosphere made up primarily of carbon oxides
- it has 2 tiny moons
Ophiucus IV
- it's orbit is approximately 149 million km from it's star
- a hot desert planet with a diameter of 12,664 km (7,915 miles).
- a density of 5.5
- a gravity of 0.1 G's
- an earth like atmosphere with a pressure of about 1.0 earth normal, with nitrogen 72%, oxygen 23% and other gases 3%
- it has an axial tilt of 23% that results in earth like seasonal variations
- temperatures and environmental conditions are extremely earth like
- surface water over 76% of the planets surface with 69% of that being salt water oceans
- with a year of 365 days, each day is 24 hours long
- it has a human population of
- They have applied for admission into the Federation but have not yet been accepted
Asteroid belt
- these asteroids have a stony, iron composition
- they orbit there star at approximately 178 million km
Ophiucus V
Ophiucus VI
- it's orbit is approximately 257 million km from it's star
- a gas giant with a diameter of 102,722km (63,842 miles).
- a density of 0.9
- a gravity of 1.31 G's
- it has 9 tiny moons, 6 small moons, 3 medium moons, 2 large moons plus a spectacular dual ring
