In 2400, the Halsey was assigned to Amity Outpost to fortify the station's defenses when a large gathering of Hirogen ships were detected. Jess Webber was assigned as the ship's operations officer and tasked with leading the Halsey to its destination, where it would await the rest of its crew complement to follow, including its new captain.
