The numbering of interior spaces (hereafter referred to as “rooms”) aboard the {{USS|Excalibur|A}} follows the standard in use aboard the {{USS|Thor}} and other [[Vesta class|''Vesta''-class starships]].  All rooms are allocated a unique, 6-digit identifying number, with the 6 digits divided into three groups of 2 as follows:
===General overview===
# Deck number
* All personnel quarters are located on decks 2, 4, 5, 6, 8–10, and 19.
# Sector number
* Individuals assigned to the {{USS|Excalibur|A}} for periods over 6 months are permitted to reconfigure their quarters within hardware, volume, and mass limits.  Individuals assigned for shorter periods are generally restricted to standard quarter configuration.
# Compartment number
* With the Captain's authorization, personnel at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class and above are permitted to bring family aboard, and are allocated a slightly larger room.

* Personnel of the same classification are permitted to combine their quarters to create a single, larger dwelling.

Standard living quarters are provided for both Starfleet non-commissioned officers and ensigns.  These personnel are expected to share their living quarters with another crewmate due to space restrictions aboard the ship.  Two NCOs or two ensigns are assigned to a suite.  Accommodations include 2 bedrooms with standard beds, connected by a living/working area.  A washroom with an ultrasonic shower is located off of each bedroom.  A food replicator and a personal holographic viewer are located in the living area.  Small pets are permitted in these quarters.

The '''I'''nterior '''S'''paces '''A'''llocation '''A'''nd '''C'''oordination '''S'''ystem ('''ISAACS''', pronounced ''EYE-zəks'') is the automated system responsible for managing all interior spaces aboard the ship''Excalibur'' is the first ''Vesta''-class starship to be equipped with ISAACS; other ships of this class are equipped with a predecessor system called RAMS ('''R'''oom '''A'''llocation '''M'''anagement '''S'''ystem).

To ensure that room numbering is consistent shipwide, all departments shall routinely audit their assigned spaces and report any erroneous or obsolete signage with Operations via ISAACSDepartments must complete an initial signage audit within 72 hours of being allocated internal space, and conduct subsequent audits not less frequently than annually.

It is expected that interior spaces will be reconfigured from time to time, to meet evolving departmental and personnel needs.  Department chiefs are responsible for reporting any reconfigurations that may necessitate the creation, deletion, or reordering of room numbers within a given deck and sectorPrior approval is typically not required, provided the reconfigurations comply with hardware, volume, and mass limits.

Personnel quarters

General overview

  • All personnel quarters are located on decks 2, 4, 5, 6, 8–10, and 19.
  • Individuals assigned to the USS Excalibur-A for periods over 6 months are permitted to reconfigure their quarters within hardware, volume, and mass limits. Individuals assigned for shorter periods are generally restricted to standard quarter configuration.
  • With the Captain's authorization, personnel at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class and above are permitted to bring family aboard, and are allocated a slightly larger room.
  • Personnel of the same classification are permitted to combine their quarters to create a single, larger dwelling.

Enlisted

Crewman 3rd Class through Crewman 1st Class
Located on Decks 8, 9, and 10

Enlisted crewmembers share quarters with one other crewmate, though the rooms can be double-bunked to sleep up to 4 people. Enlisted quarters are slightly smaller versions of the quarters assigned to NCOs and ensigns, and typically include 2 bedrooms with standard beds, connected by a living/working area. A washroom with ultrasonic shower is located off of each bedroom. A food replicator and a personal holographic viewer are located in the living area. Pets are not permitted in these quarters.

Junior officers and NCOs

Petty Officer 3rd Class through Ensign
Located on Deck 5

Standard living quarters are provided for both Starfleet non-commissioned officers and ensigns. These personnel are expected to share their living quarters with another crewmate due to space restrictions aboard the ship. Two NCOs or two ensigns are assigned to a suite. Accommodations include 2 bedrooms with standard beds, connected by a living/working area. A washroom with an ultrasonic shower is located off of each bedroom. A food replicator and a personal holographic viewer are located in the living area. Small pets are permitted in these quarters.

Senior officers

Lieutenant Junior Grade through Commander
Located on Deck 4

Starfleet personnel from the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade through Commander are given one set of quarters to themselves. In addition, department heads and their assistants (regardless of rank) are granted such privileges as well, in an effort to provide a private environment to perform off-duty work. Accommodations typically include a small bathroom, a bedroom with standard bed, a living/working area, a food replicator, an ultrasonic shower, personal holographic viewer, and provisions for pets.

Commanding and Executive officers

Located on Deck 2

The commanding officer and executive officer of the USS Excalibur-A have special quarters. These quarters are much more luxurious than any others on the ship, with the exception of the VIP/diplomatic guest quarters. Both sets of quarters are larger than standard officers' quarters, and generally have the following accommodations: a bedroom with double bed, living/working area, bathroom with ultrasonic and standard water shower, food replicator, personal holographic viewer, and provisions for pets.

VIPs and diplomatic guests

Located on Decks 2 and 6

The Vesta-class is a symbol of Starfleet's commitment to exploration and modernization. As a multi-mission explorer, the USS Excalibur-A is often called upon to represent the United Federation of Planets in its dealings with other races, for which there are extensive diplomatic facilities on Deck 6. A smaller number of VIP, diplomatic, and guest quarters are located in the forward sectors of Deck 2. Quarters typically include a large bedroom, spacious living/working area, personal viewscreen, ultrasonic shower, bathtub and water shower, provisions for pets, food replicator, and null-grav sleeping chamber. These quarters can be immediately converted to class H, K, L, N, and N2 environments.

Civilians and families

Located on Deck 8

Although Starfleet personnel fulfill the vast majority of ship functions, the diverse mission profile of the USS Excalibur-A may occasionally require the skills and talents of civilians. In addition, although having families aboard is not encouraged due to the extended periods in deep space and potential for danger, the Commanding Officer may, at their discretion, waive this restriction. Both of these needs are met by a small number of special, highly configurable quarters in the forward sectors of Deck 8. Depending on need, these quarters can range from single-room dwellings to larger, apartment-style homes with multiple bedrooms.

Marines

Located on Deck 19

The living and working facilities for Excalibur's marine contingent are located primarily on Deck 19. The living quarters for marines are comparable to those allocated to their naval counterparts of equivalent personnel classification.
