Mikku's quarters are rather plain and simple as he does not spend much time in them anyways. If he is in his quarters, he is mostly interested in reading scientific journals or for relaxation. He keeps some photographs of his home planet and his family in there. Furthermore, he

Mikku tends to knit his brow when he is brooding over a problem. It may happen that he besomes so deeply absobed in a scientific study that he forgets the time and almost everything around him.

Since Mikku is not allowing him too much free time, he doesn't have any hobbies apart from readings and personal study of scientific journals. However, still following the advice of the counsellor back at the Academy, he tries to grant himself more free time. Trying to find a hobby was another hint from the counsellor, so he tries out several things in order to find some hobby that he likes and that suits him.
One thing he likes to do for purpose of relaxation is to listen to classic smyphonies of different species, especially Bolians, Vulcans, Humans, and Andorians.

On stardate 236706.25 Mikku was born as to Kall and Boldara on the Bolian homeworld Bolarus IX. He has a twin sister named Alarru.

Being a "typical" Bolian and brought up in the traditional way, Mikku's will to succeed and the need to function within a group made him an ideal cadet. He concentrated on science from the very beginning as this was the field that he was most interested in and worked hard. As many Bolians, Mikku turned out to be a workoholic. Therefore, his social life suffered. When he didn't attend courses at the Academy, he spent the rest of the day with physical training and learning. Due to his dedication and hard work Mikku's grades were very good, but he didn't have close friends. Even the ones he worked with closely in the teams didn't become good friends.
A counsellor responsible for the cadet group Mikku was part of summoned him to a couple of personal appointments as she was slightly concerned by the extent of his work mania. She even ordered him some free time he should spend with friends and without learning. This was very difficult for him first as he thought he would waste his time. However, he made some good friends then as he can be quite a good company and at least his extreme work mania cut back to a normal level - for Bolians.

After his graduation of the Academy and his cadet cruise, he was transferred to the USS Rio Grande where he worked as a dedicated science officer. On Stardate ??????.?? he was transferred to the USS Gemini, where he replaced the deceased officer Vanessa Driscoll, who was infected by a deadly virus during a mission on Rathos and eventually died.
