Displaying Multiple Citations of the Same Service Ribbon
Any general ribbon, ribbon of gallantry & heroism, or lifesaving ribbon may be awarded multiple times, but any campaign ribbon may only be awarded once. A gold star represents each repeated citation, and a silver star represents five additional citations (and therefore five gold stars).
How to use this template:
file name of service ribbon
- Service Ribbons are available here: Category:Service Ribbons Award Images
So for instance, just type in
Awards ServiceRibbons LegionOfMerit 2011.jpg
if you earned the Legion of Merit a total of four times and you'll get the appropriate arrangement of stars!
Let's say you've been awarded the Silver Star 7 times (wow!). You'd type in:
Awards ServiceRibbons SilverStar 2011.jpg
and get
The template currently supports up to 9 citations of the same service ribbon, and yes, you can use this template to also display a single citation of the ribbon as well by leaving off the last number or putting a 1.
Here's how they all look:
Citations | Ribbon |
---|---|
1 | |
2 | |
3 | |
4 | |
5 | |
6 | |
7 | |
8 | |
9 |
And here's how it looks in a service rack:
The code used for that:
