This shuttle type is commonly known as a Class 2 shuttlecraft. The term 'class 2' is a designation for shuttlecrafts with small crew cabins and limited amenities, and include the Type 6,8 and 9 models. It can be crewed by a single person if necessary but is furnished for two pilots and four passengers.
====Long Range====
The USS Eagle carries one Type XI Shuttle, named the Condor, and the Aeroshuttle.

It has the greatest range of the standard StarFleet shuttlecraft carried by the USS Eagle, with a maximum speed of warp 4. Length: 8.5 meters, height: 2.95 meters. It is specifically designed for deep space scouting missions. Their dimensions enables a sizable number to be stored within the shuttlebay area.
The Type XI shuttlecraft is an advanced piece of technology, containing bioneural circuitry as a standard, as well as a compact powerplant that still provides excellent cruising and maximum speeds.  The cockpit is an individual compartment, seperate from the rest of the shuttle, which a break from Starfleet's standard shuttle design.

The Type 9s on the USS Eagle are permanently equipped with phaser emitters of the type IV variety.

Notes : The Type 11 shuttle was designed by the crew of the USS Enterprise as part of StarFleet's recent move to allow starships to produce their own shuttlecraft fleets. The design was created under the direction of Lieutenant Commander Geordi LaForge during the Enterprise's shakedown cruise in 2372, and after some evaluation the ship has produced a dozen of these craft using its industrial replicator system. Like the Type 10, the Type 11 uses some elements of the technology of its parent vessel. Bio-neural gel packs have been included as standard, a step up from the Type 10 computer system which offers the gel packs as an upgrade only. Other technology incorporated is mostly centered around the warp core and nacelles, which use allows the Type 11 to have an equal speed to the type 10 but with a somewhat smaller power plant. The Type 11 design has been included in StarFleet's shuttle design database, and is now available for any starship with an industrial replicator to produce as needed.

The Type 11 shuttle was seen in action in "Insurrection", but we learned relatively little about it beyond the fact that it has a cockpit cabin which is separated from the rest of the interior - something quite unusual in Federation shuttlecraft - and docking port above the passenger compartment which is presumably behind the cockpit. The presence of nacelles indicates that the ship is warp capable; while we know nothing about speeds, I have assumed that the shuttle is a fast one in line with the Type 9 and 10 shuttles.

==Aeroshuttle==
*Name:  The Aerowing shuttlecraft, also known as the Aeroshuttle
*Accommodation:  Up to 6 flight crew, max 10 passengers.
*Dimensions:  Length: 24.8m; Width: 29.6m (full wingspan); Height: 4.1m
*Performance:  Cruise: Warp 5; Max Cruise: Warp 6; Max Warp: Warp 7.5 (for 6hrs)
*Armament:  4 Type-VI Phaser Strips, Pulse Emitter, 2 Mk-25 Micro-Torpedo Launchers

The Aerowing has been modified to the crew's own specifications. This large warp-capable shuttle is docked to the ventral side of the saucer of the USS Frontier in a recessed hatchway just aft of the ventral sensor array. The Aerowing provides a large secondary craft, long-range travel, and the protection, armament, and sensor capabilities beyond that of a standard auxiliary shuttle. Facilities include two sleeping bunks and a standard runabout-type passenger cabin. A replicator and flight couches provide for the needs of the passengers and a two-person transporter allows for beaming of personnel or cargo when needed. The Aerowing possesses superior atmospheric flight capabilities.

Shuttles

The USS Eagle carries three shuttlecraft in its shuttlebays, as well as the Intrepid Class-specific Aeroshuttle. All of the shuttles assigned to the ship are named after birds of prey. In addition to the shuttlecraft, in emergency situations the crew has access to 42 escape pods placed at strategic locations around the vessel.

Short Range

The USS Eagle carries two Type IX (also known as Class 2) shuttles, named the Besra and the Shikra. They are fast and maneuverable, but definitely not built for comfort.

The Type 9 possesses limited amenities, and though furnished for two pilots and four passengers, can be crewed by a single person if necessary. Their compact size has earned them a reputation for causing "Class Two Claustrophobia" at Starfleet Academy, due to a predilection for stress-testing cadets by sending a full crew of six on training missions that last several weeks. As one Starfleet officer quipped "you did not want to be around when they opened up that airlock".
