It operates like diabetes but in the brain: under the influence of catecholamines, a mutation in the genome inhibits the production of the Vulcan glucocorticoid, which is essential in the ability to redirect emotional influences. When under stress, Tu'Peq's emotional inhibitions are lowered and he occasionally suffers suffers from visual hallucinations. The prescription is synthetic glucocorticoid, to be taken only when symptoms start to appear.
