• Description: In both his real appearance and his guide, Alstred is a man of moderate height and unassuming build. Soft spoken and mild mannered to most, he carried himself with the air of a country boy transplanted into the big city of the universe. His features were sharp and angular, his eyes wide and his hair neatly coiffed.

Backstory/Timeline

Not much is known about Rhansu Lloran, but the sketch of his life becomes clear with some research. Rhansu was born into a middle class farming family on Rhiaandrus VI. His mother died of a rare genetic disease when he was a adolescent, and his older sister Vorna stepped in as a surrogate mother. By all accounts Rhansu was incredibly close to Vorna. The peaceful Romulan colony saw little activity until the Hobus star explosion when it became a much sough after commodity by the warring races in the area. In 2389 an unknown group (assumed to be controlled by the Remans, but this was unsubstantiated) poisoned the atmosphere of Rhiaandrus VI, causing widespread sickness and death. Rhansu lost his father, and then his sister Vorna. Vorna's death was the turning point in the peaceful farmer's life. He irrationally blamed the Federation for Vorna's death when the arrived with medicine soon enough to save his life but too late for Vorna. Driven mad by grief, he joined the a Romulan freedom fighting sect called the Resiliency - a group of misguided rebels that mistakenly saw the Federation as the masterminds behind the Hobus star explosion.

When the Ralaaram Ocala was dealt a blow from the USS Excalibur-A, some of the remaining members believed the group was gone for good and in turn joined the Romulan Resiliency. It was a move that turned the fairly sedate and subtle group towards hostile acts of terrorism in short order. Alstred, who had been operating under the guise of an Arkarian merchant for several years, was well known for his ability to infiltrate places and steal computer codes and data. He was specially chosen for this mission deep into the heart of StarBase 118, and he paid for it with his life.

Ry'van Alstred always carried around small carved pits of the cokaberry fruit - a tree that was cultivated for food on Rhiaandrus VI. His sister Vorna taught him how to carve them, and Vorna was considered a local master of the age-old art.

Later Starfleet discovered that Alstred had connections to the Sicarians and was likely a Sicarian agent owning to his incredible computer skill and vicious death at the hands of fellow Sicarian agent Suvek.
