History
They are formally allied with the Federation and jointly maintain the Remmler Array which is in orbit of their home world and the Arkaria Base which is on the planets surface. These facilities are used to keep a very close watch on the Cardassian border which is fairly close.
By 2369, the Arkarians began to move towards a more egalitarian society. As a result it is believed that this is the reason many Arkarians began to do away with titles which suggested noble lineage.
Also that year, a group of rogue Arkarians cooperated with a terrorist group in a plot to steal trilithium resin from the warp core of the USS Enterprise-D, docked at the Remmler Array for a baryon sweep.
Government
They currently have an elected government with representatives coming from each of the 8 planetary districts.
Description
Their physically appearance is similar to that of Terrans, with the exception of characteristic ridges on their foreheads.
Physiology
Very similar to Terrans but with an additional supplementary liver and a 6 valve heart.
Psychology
According to data files shared with the Federation their mental health seems to be on a par with most intelligent humanoid species.
Religion
No known form of religion has been recorded by Federation staff.
Mythology
They have a rich mythology with numerous legendary characters. Most of the stories have a specific lesson to teach and pit individuals of high moral character (nobles) against the crafty, untrustworthy evil plots of the lower classes.
Society
Even though they have given up many of the special titles that separate certain families from the rest of the population, these families still control more power, wealth and property than the rest of the population put together. This 15% of the population still seem to hold the majority of the government jobs as well.
Culture
Many objects of art detail some aspect of their mythology. Tapestries, murals on the walls and floor as well as paintings, statues and dioramas keep these stories alive. In fact they are a integral part of their educational process.
They also have numerous plays that are performed either inside or outside for the entertainment of the people. 90% of them still deal with mythological stories.
Customs
Due to the numerous changes that their society is undergoing, their customs also seem to be undergoing a metamorphous as well.
Technology
While a space faring race they do not have most of the technological advantages that the Federation has.
Economy
They have established a number of lucrative trade deals with various Federation member worlds close by.
Military
They have a fairly large and well developed military, thanks to their close proximity to the Cardassian border. They employ 3 distinct ship classes, destroyer, light cruiser and heavy cruiser.
