He was involved in investigations into overspending and corruption at various Star Fleet shipyards.  Being fresh out of the Academy yet already had a 30 year career in the Marines as a senior NCO. The newly minted  Counter Intel Officer tr'Khellian reported to his mentor the Inspector General of SFI, Edvard Hogan.  There were allegations of links to corrupt Romulan officials, hidden backdoors, and Brass at shipyards using substandard materials. Eventually The Brass were reassigned. Careers were wrecked. A handful of Commanders and one Captain took the hit. One Admiral retired early. 5 years later, payback to tr'Khellian came to roost after one of a pair of assassins started killing folks at The Embassy on Duronis II. Under the pretext that tr'Khellian was in cohoots, hewas put under a Bent Sword investigation (OOC run by Captain Nugra's SFI NPCs). A Bent Sword investigation is reserved for looking into the highest levels of treason to the Federation. Implications that he aided and abetted the assassins resulted in a multiyear probe. Going up on Romulus, S'Lone lived the life of one of the most privileged. He had want for nothing, attended the best schools, had the best tutors, and at age 14 began attending in the prestigious F'Trorr Military Academy where the ruling elite educated their offspring preparing them for a life of service and leadership.


Once reaching Betazed after escaping from Romulus with his life, he ran away from his mother to Earth and joined the Starfleet Marines.  He did so to hide from reality and in some ways was able to turn his mind off.  Over the years, S'Lone was offered many meritorious field commissions but turned them all down. ==Personal History==
Jack was born in space--the medical bay of Starbase 211, between [[Betazed]] and [[Cardassian]] territory--but only lived in space for a year and four months. Shortly after his father and older sister died in a [[Cardassian]] attack, he, his eldest brother, and his mother left the Starbase to live on Earth. They were taken in by his uncle on his father's side, who lived in Seattle, WA. From that time on, his brother [[Kolk, Jarod|Jarod]] refused to ever travel anywhere again, despising all technology and [[Starfleet]] especially for "killing" their father. Jack, however, dreamed of the stars from very early on, and loved traveling all over [[Earth]]. They had an uncle, Ted, on their mother's side, who lived and taught in Oxford whom Jack would visit nearly every summer from about the age of three on until graduating from Starfleet Academy. Uncle Ted pulled some strings to get Elisabeth a teaching position at Oxford University, but she declined the opportunity because of [[Kolk, Jarod|Jarod]]'s absolute refusal to travel. Instead, she began teaching at a local high school and eventually became the principal of the school. [[Kolk, Jarod|Jarod]] tought mathematics there until Elisabeth's death, tending to avoid applying his skill in mathematics to anything warp-related, although he did teach basic warp-field mathematics because the school board requires him to. The brothers hardly spoke to each other at all, though their mother always tried to encourage each of them to "reach out" to the other. Jack was always a bit closer to both of his uncles than to his mother, though he tried to send her regular updates on his life while at the Academy. While visiting his uncle Ted alone during summer break, an older girl (9-years) named Sandra McKenna decided it would be exciting to kiss a non-Earth-born Human and so set her sights on young Jack. He evaded her for many weeks, but 3 days before he scheduled return to Seattle, she cornered him in a secluded section of the historical University of Oxford Botanical Gardens and laid a wet one on him. After she let him up, he wiped off his wet lips and ran off crying.

Shortly thereafter, an Ensign in Engineering, [[Reed, Sarah|Sarah Reed]], began playing pranks on him, leading to a short prank war between them that culminated in him waking up to the image of a Borg Cube looming out his bedroom window and him running to Engineering shirtless and in pajama pants. He confronted her the next day at a party aboard the ''[[USS Ursa Major]]''. They danced angrily, forged a rough truce, and then she nearly kissed him... Thrown completely off guard, he spent the next few months figuring out what he felt while slowly transferring from Engineering to Flight Operations. When the tranfer was complete and the ship was stopped off at Earth for shoreleave, he and the Ensign spent a good deal of time together and eventually became a couple.   • Noteable Features: Pointy ears. Slightly arched and up-swept eyebrows. While Romulans normally have two brow ridges above the bridge of their nose, forming a V-shape on the forehead, on S'Lone these ridges are much more subtle; from a distance he could pass perhaps as a Vulcan/human halfbreed.



Personality

  • Personal Motto: OFFICIUM, HONORATE, FRATERNITAS (Duty, Honor, Fraternity)
  • Mannerisms: Keeps to himself. Speaks very colloquially due to his time in the Marines.
  • Temperment: Aggressively dry almost gallows wit. Does not anger quickly. Vengeful. Sarcastic. Gets cold anger.
  • Habits: Unconsciously lapses into Marine Senior NCO mode when stressed.
  • Profile: Though highly intelligent and educated, S'Lone's background as a NCO makes him very nonchalant. If there is one concept that permiates to his core it is the Marine concept of F-I-D-O.
  • Dislikes: Ashamed of his Betazoid side, it's weakness and pacifism. Shame translates into dislike. Also not a big fan of Trills due to his having had a large parasite attach itself to his spine 10 years ago while he was on a mission with the Starfleet Marines.
  • Ambitions and Goals: Gain knowledge and rise to Commander rank in Starfleet. Secret goal: see his Grandfather writhe in abject misery under a cortical pain enhancer trapped in a crescendo of pain never to abate.
  • Personal Disappointments: Not seeking out his mother during his Starfleet Academy graduation ceremony. He knew she was there but avoided meeeting her.



Noteable Occurrences

  • Bent Sword Investigation: It all went back to the early days of tr'Khellian's Intel career. He was involved in investigations into overspending and corruption at various Star Fleet shipyards. Being fresh out of the Academy yet already had a 30 year career in the Marines as a senior NCO. The newly minted Counter Intel Officer tr'Khellian reported to his mentor the Inspector General of SFI, Edvard Hogan. There were allegations of links to corrupt Romulan officials, hidden backdoors, and Brass at shipyards using substandard materials. Eventually The Brass were reassigned. Careers were wrecked. A handful of Commanders and one Captain took the hit. One Admiral retired early. 5 years later, payback to tr'Khellian came to roost after one of a pair of assassins started killing folks at The Embassy on Duronis II. Under the pretext that tr'Khellian was in cohoots, hewas put under a Bent Sword investigation (OOC run by Captain Nugra's SFI NPCs). A Bent Sword investigation is reserved for looking into the highest levels of treason to the Federation. Implications that he aided and abetted the assassins resulted in a multiyear probe. The investigation was concluded on the Constitution/Apollo*

Personal History

Growing up in Ra'tleihfl on Romulus, S'Lone lived the life of one of the most privileged. He had want for nothing, attended the best schools, had the best tutors, and at age 14 began attending in the prestigious F'Trorr Military Academy where the ruling elite educated their offspring preparing them for a life of service and leadership.

Once reaching Betazed after escaping from Romulus with his life, he ran away from his mother to Earth and joined the Starfleet Marines. He did so to hide from reality and in some ways was able to emotionally disconnect from the trauma of his coming of age. Over the years, S'Lone was offered many meritorious field commissions but turned them all down. It was not until after the away mission to Gahoolo VI that he accepted the invitation to join Starfleet Academy.

  2. Stardate 234206.15: Age 15 - Escaped into exile with his mother to Betazed after father was executed. The escape from Romulus was facilitated by the USS Enterprise.
