Tani Lekasa is a Betazoid mediator.
She is a good friend of Rivi Vataix, the two having met as dormitory roomates while studying at the Ohmallera University of Arts & Sciences. Rivi views Tani as somewhat of a sister. However, unlike Rivi, Tani is a Betazoid commoner, with no ties to the nobility, and in fact, though she cherishes Rivi's friendship, her own political views are that the Betazoid system of nobility--particularly where it concerns its involvement in the government of Betazed and its territories--should be abolished.
