“Don't mess with the best, kiddo. I eat young Initiates for breakfast...”

Shona Rodan

Rodan's First Host - Shona Rodan - was a private psychiatrist on Trill before joining the evaluation board of the Symbiosis Commission. She worked as an evaluator and Field Docent for Initiates and visited their homes and places of work. Like the infamous Dax, she was known to 'wash-out' dozens of hopeful Initiates. Sharp tongued and no-nonsense, she was a veritable tour de force to all who knew her.

Personal History

The First Host of Rodan. Shona was Joined for the longest, a healthy sixty two years. After Joining she worked as a private psychiatrist and had her own practice. She later joined the Symbiosis Commission in evaluating the psychological profiles of Initiates, then became a Field Docent. She visited hopeful Initiates and administered the standard tests pre-Joining.

She was a tough, no-nonsense woman who was known for her sharp tongue. She never failed to put anyone in their place if she thought they needed it. She was also infamous for washing out Initiates who she believed wouldn't complete the program or would be suitable psychologically for Joining. This earned her a bit of a reputation for being a hard nosed woman.

She was the only Host to have children and subsequent grandchildren. She was married and had two daughters. In her later years she was always active and enjoyed attending psychology lectures and seminars and playing tennis. She was also very fond of martini's. Outspoken to the end, she tragically died at the age of 82 on the tennis court. In the midst of a rematch between her and her longtime tennis rival - Elinar Vant - she died, rather annoyingly, while being two sets up.
