I have completed several scans of the cybernetic implant inside Lt. jg Danni James’ brain. All results indicate it is indeed repairing the damage as described in earlier logs. I have yet to determine the exact makeup and origin of the implant, as well as its full functionality. As a precaution, I have also ran several diagnostics to rule out the possibility of any outside manipulation or contact. So far, I haven’t found anything to indicate it poses a threat to either Lt. James or the ship. Following protocol, I have file a report with the Captain as well as forwarded all the test results I have collected thus far. Naturally, it will be up to her to decide what further non-medical actions to take. I will continue to monitor Lt. James until I am absolutely certain there are no lingering medical issues.

Chief Medical Officer's Log, Stardate 239405.21

Our rescue mission was extremely eventful, however it wasn't very successful. Only one survivor was rescued. A Valtese male named Kallo Ver.

I found another, a female who has yet to be identified via DNA samples I retrieved. However, she was pinned beneath a support beam. Her body from mid-torso down was completely crushed. Without the proper equipment and access to a stasis chamber, it was impossible to save her life. I made a promise to notify her son who she said was living on Antor II.

There were a number of injuries among the rescue team.

  • Lieutenant JG Akiko Kimura suffered a concussion. She was treated and released.
  • Lieutenant JG Carter Greyson suffered bruised ribs and possible damage to his E.A.R.S. implant. I am currently running diagnostics to determine the extent of the damage.
  • Lt. Commander Evan Delano suffered minor scrapes and bruises. However he also suffered radiation poisoning after prolonged exposure to theta radiation. He was treated with arithrazine and dialysis. There are no signs of permanent damage, however I have suggested regular follow-ups over the course of six months as a pre-caution.
  • Dr. Nikki Ryan... I also suffered scrapes and bruises, a fractured hip and radiation poisoning after prolonged exposure to theta radiation. Like Delano, I was treated with arithrazine and dialysis. There are no signs of permanent damage, however I, too, will undergo regular follow-ups over the course of six months as a pre-caution.

I have examined the Thraltans we rescued from the rogue planet in the Maelstrom. All seem to be in good health though it's difficult to know for certain without knowing what 'normal' is for their species. Once they are fully rested, I will do a follow-up exam of each of them.

After running several diagnostics and an overnight stay in sickbay, I determined that the damage to Lieutenant JG Carter Greyson's E.A.R.S. implants was severe enough to warrant replacement. The surgery was a success.

Side note: We will be working closely together however to develop a Generation 4 E.A.R.S..

The last few weeks have been tedious and exhausting. The trail seems to have gone cold… as if it had ever been anything else… in our investigation of the felicium found hidden in the bulkheads of Outpost 3. I am, however, happy to report that after testing the crew of the Outpost 3, none of them tested positive for drug usage. Lt. Commander Blake and I have been busy sweeping the outpost to make sure every last bit of the drug has been accounted for and safely secured. With the help of Paxton and Lt.jg Sepek, we are in the final stages of securing and cataloguing the felicium.
