Zack joined Starfleet as a way to get off Belle Terre. Since he was little, he has had that lust to travel to far off places. But with that restless, came a streak of impatience. He grew up hearing tales of the great Admiral Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise, and of Nick Kellar and the Challenger, defenders of Belle Terre. He wanted to be just like the men in the stories. So school and such to him were just a means to an end, so he didn't put them first all the time. Thus it took him three tries to pass the admissions tests for the Academy. However, his impatience lead to difficulties at the Academy. But inbetween his senior year and cadet cruise, in a misguided attempt to take a trip on his own, he bribed a classmate to hack the computers that controlled the shuttle bays, and stole a shuttle. But Security caught on quick, and in the following chase, resulted in his crashing the shuttle. So he was arrested by security, and sentenced to 9 months of brig time at hard labor. Upon completion of that sentence, he was allowed to return to the Academy to repeat his senior year. | |||
