She was previously a cadet in Starfleet studying propulsion engineering, and held a rank of Cadet First Class. For her cadet cruise, she was assigned to [[Deep Space 17]], placed under the 'mentorship' of [[Core, Tristam|Lieutenant Tristam Core]], an Operations officer on the station. She remained under his guidance for almost three months before resigning, citing "personal conflicts" as the cause. She currently works as a reporter for the [[Federation News Service]].
