Actually, both were in the Academy at the same time. I assumed their numbers were given then, hence their use on Academy transcripts ([[Kolk, Jackford/Academy Transcript|see theirs]] (even for those who fail to graduate, I'd imagine). James, [[Kolk, James T./The Dark Years|before he was James]], lived the exact same life as Jack up until the latter part of their Academy cruises, which is why I believe they would've been given the same ID Number when they entered the Academy in September of 2379. -[[User:Jackford B.
