Doreen Finch, known to most as Doz, is a lively, hands-on and occasionally facetious Human, currently posted as an Engineering Officer to the USS Gorkon, the flagship of the Tyrellian Defence and Exploration Taskforce.

She started her career as an enlisted crewman, and worked alongside a squadron of all-male friends across the two major quadrants. During her time aboard the USS Barrington and the USS Marigold, it was often suggested that she should commission to the higher ranks; she preferred the 'lower decks', however, and always rebuffed the idea.

This all changed however with the death of her closest friend and confidant Bob Murphy; this profound loss caused her to utterly lose her emotional footing, and acted as the catalyst she needed to pursue a furtherance as Ensign, making her an older starting and therefore non-traditional officer.

Personality

Background

She was born to Iris and Freddie Finch in Uruguary, on Earth, the youngest of seven and the only girl. Her father worked away as an enlisted crewman for Starfleet, a path that she and all her brothers eventually followed. Her mother Iris was a freelance scientist, studying the local wildlife of Montevideo, while also raising their children.

At some point, Finch attended the Mars Technical Services Academy, where she met a squadron of male friends, including Bob Murphy, who became her life long confidante. The two worked together on many ships and stations, until his death onboard the USS Marigold.
