Doreen Finch, or Doz as she prefers, is a lively, raucous and hands-on Human, currently posted as an Engineering Officer to the USS Gorkon, the flagship of the Tyrellian Defence and Exploration Taskforce.
Unlike the more traditional officers of Starfleet, Doz initially enjoyed a long and layered career as an Enlisted crewmember, aboard an array of ships and stations, following in the footsteps of her father and brothers. During her time aboard the USS Barrington and the USS Marigold, her superiors often suggested she be commissioned to the officer ranks, But Doz always rebuffed the idea, preferring to stay 'on the lower decks'.
This all changed however with a revelation that was given by her dearest and most beloved friend Bobby who, on his deathbed and suffering from Inverson's Disease, told her that she should pursue the commission, despite his always supporting her decision not to.
Her Starbase 118 story therefore began with her promotion to Ensign, just five years after his death.

Personality
Background
Although she was born in Espírito Santo in Brazil, she was penultimately raised in New Jersey, the United States, and then spent much of her young life teetering across locations thanks to her fathers unsteady career as an Enlisted Crewman for Starfleet. Once old enough, she moved to Mars to attend the Starfleet Technical Services Academy, choosing not to pursue an academic route into Starfleet, wanting a quicker entry, and typically following in the same path set by her father and brothers. It was here that she met a group of gentlemen who rapidly became her life-long friends and confidants, such as Bob Murphy, her most treasured friend who she would end up working with later in life aboard the USS Billington.
