While not as blood thirsty as her father Dranzer also sees quite far ahead, and proves to be an asset to the crew. Much to everyone's surprise Dranzer grows close to the counsellor on the ship, a Terran woman called Katrina Erikson, and the two become friends. It is during this time that Dranzer decides that she would quite like to be a counsellor aboard a Federation vessel. After discussing her feelings in depth with both Katrina, and her mother, Dranzer nervously approached Magnus and asked him to recommend her to the Academy.
