*'''Basic Summary''':Jackob Steel was in Australia, Earth.  He however rarly saw his mother because of her work in trade, and only ever saw his father three times because of his role in Starfleet.  Therefore Jackob learnt to be self sufficient and taught himself everything he needed for school and high school.  But this independence came at a cost, he didn't have much human contact, the finalities of socialising eluded him and he was bullied during school.

Jackob's interest in Starfleet was initially to just gain knowledge, but then he came to like the idea of being a pilot so he first applied for the role of a fighter pilot.  He aced the theory but his body couldn't keep up for the physical exam and was let go.  He then applied himself to the postion of helm officer on a starship, although he wasn't overly confidient about himself and his ability to take care of all the people on board he continued to pass all the tests required.
