After the death of his father, Daniel assumed the responsibility of "man of the house," which placed him under great stress to perform. He is exceptionally aware of his own position and of those around him as people rather than names or numbers. I believe him to be a highly emotional man, though this can serve him both well and ill, as he may sometimes lead with his heart rather than considering the all possibilities within a given situation.
