During this mission Wood was left as Head of Security and had to defend the USS Independence from an unkown alien threat. After a fierce firefight on Deck 7 and calling General Quarters Five, Wood managed to establish first contact. Working alongside his fellow officers Wood was able to further communicaton but at the price of feeling the aliens severe pain.
