Whilst looking for the USS Euhprates the USS Independence came under attack and was boarded by hostile aliens, believed to be T'lithians. During this mission Wood led Security forces through the ship sweeping for intruders and also carried out a retrive and escort mission. Also whislt serving this mission he acted as a Security/Marine Liason Officer alongside Trooper Somers. Thier succesful training prevailed when Security & Marine forces worked together to defend the crew and the USS Independence. Working with the Chief of Security from [[Midway Station]], both mutually agreed LtJg Wood should take the lead on the investigation. * Woods third mission took him on the USS Phoenix-C whilst the USS Independence recieved repairs. He was part of an away team under the command of Lt.Cmdr Riley (First Officer), ordered to offer aid to the planet for an outbreak of mites. During this time LtJg Wood was in charge of protecting the Away team from any threats along with Ensign Sharpe (Tactical Officer). Whilst mainting a line of patients into the surgery a bomb had exploded next to a generater. Wood immediatly responded to the threat to find Lt Quinn Reynolds (Chief Engineer) in a critical condition with Lt.Cmdr Lily Ventu (Counselor) performing emergency medicion on her. All away team members were pulled from the planet as a precaution. LtJg Wood was pulled from the mission by Admiral Quinn in order to attend Officers Rapid Response School. | |||
* Wood attended the Officers Rapid Response School, where upon he was given command of Alpha Squad of the 501st Rapid Response Team. Cmdr Jones (Commanding Officer) has nothing but high praise for him. Daniel graduated with high marks in all his tests however the final test was cancelled by Starfleet Security. This reason has been Classified. As of Stardate 238501.17 Daniel is now a fully qualified Starfleet Rapid Response Officer for the 501st Division. | |||
