Meanwhile Commodore Oddas and Gunnery Sergeant Hesan decide to study the misterious object discovered in the fields. With the help of two Jem'hadars they dig the dirt around it and brings the surface to light. The tricorder is unable to scan the object, but Oddas can sense some kind of energy field surrounding it. With the resources available in the field, Hesan builds a device capable of breaching the barrier and detecting an energy signal that does not belong to the Dominion. The three Star Fleet officer discover that generating a impulse at a specific frequency triggers the door to access the pillar. Unfortately the door closes as soon as they stepped inside the large control room in the pillar. They try to find a way out and Drex tell the others about the room he visited in Denali. They try to find a button on the console that may open the door, but the symbols are different from those they are used to and nothing they do seems to work. When Kettick push a duck/rabbit button the main visor turns on, revealing the room outside. Tanner try to revert the impulse in the hope to obtain a reaction from the door, but it is not until Nomot and Commander Falt reach the underground room and the pillar that the structure starts to respond. An audio channel opens throw the door and Tanner explains Falt how to create the impulse with his tricorder. The trick works and the officers are finally free. The exit the control room but Drex notices the outer room has changed. The walls moved and the hatch he had felt from is now hidden and unreachable. | |||
