| Born to neglectful parents, at the age of one month Alex was taken
| | INSert some biographical information on your character here |
| | |
| to an orphanage, where two months later was adopted by his fathers. He
| |
| | |
| was to grow up on the ships his parents served on. But there was
| |
| | |
| always something off about him. And it was very noticeable too. At the
| |
| | |
| age of 9 months, he was assessed physically and neurologically by
| |
| | |
| professionals. They found that he had alexithymia which prevented him
| |
| | |
| from experiencing emotion. As a child, he required a lot of attention
| |
| | |
| as he lacked the capacity to call for it. His father Garrion, a
| |
| | |
| Lieutenant Commander at the time and part of the command division,
| |
| | |
| personally took the role of his primary caregiver, as Saba had to be
| |
| | |
| transferred for a year to a starbase to look after the medical
| |
| | |
| division there.
| |
| | |
| | |
| His sisters were jealous of the extra attention he was given. They
| |
| | |
| picked on Alex and his 'heartlessness' often, which didn't bother him
| |
| | |
| (because nothing really did). After a while of teasing, they realised
| |
| | |
| they weren't getting anywhere and grew to respect him, and even love
| |
| | |
| him as they grew up.
| |
| | |
| | |
| He was schooled on ship schools, benefitting from both a knowledgeable
| |
| | |
| professor and having many experienced officers to give hands-on
| |
| | |
| training. Garrion started to teach Alex about social interactions,
| |
| | |
| often having to correct him and teach him the best way to interact
| |
| | |
| with others. He also instilled in him what he calls, ‘Core Values’
| |
| | |
| which are based on politeness, protection of others and understanding
| |
| | |
| of others. At times when he questioned why he should follow those
| |
| | |
| values, his father told him that he could think of it as a way to
| |
| | |
| repay his care he has given him all his life. His father was also the
| |
| | |
| one who encouraged him to join Starfleet (Well, it was just. His
| |
| | |
| father asked him to join Starfleet. And he did.)
| |
| | |
| | |
| Due to his obligations to the values of his father, Alex’s most
| |
| | |
| logical choice was to choose a security course to pursue in starfleet.
| |
| | |
| Going to San Fran Starfleet Academy, he majored in Security and passed
| |
| | |
| with passing grades. He wasn't the most dedicated or talented cadet,
| |
| | |
| but he did try his best. He kept regular contact with his family,
| |
| | |
| especially his father Garrion, who occasionally gave him ‘social
| |
| | |
| quests’ to interact and form relationships with others. Apart from
| |
| | |
| this, Alex mostly kept alone and focused on his studies.
