Vitor took some time to adjust to his new posting, but as they headed to Meranuge IV, for their first mission he met with Lieutenant Gabriel Osuna, the Artemis new Chief of Security. | |||
They connected quickly and as they were called by their team leaders Vitor, in his usual way, christened Osuna as Gabi. | |||
Called for a briefing by Genkos, now the Artemis First officer, they were briefed on the details of their rescue mission. Genkos would lead him, Ensign Jovenan and Ensign Kag into the Capital, where they were going to provide supplies and relief equipment. | |||

They beamed down to the Palace of Culture, in the city of Tecra, where they met Jiah Kleebohn, who was in charge there. Working quickly they began to set up a support line. However not everything was going as expected. Vitor felt like something was brewing, but wrongfully he thought it was the trauma and strains of such a disaster that was leading people to despair. She was asking about Genkos behavior and that prompted him to return as apparently Nan had found something. Still he wasn’t quick enough to prevent Genkos from striking Kleebohn with his cane, as he tackled him a second too late. Regrettably in that scuffle his phaser dropped from his holster and ended up in the hands of Kleebohn. | |||
Thanks to Nan’s quick reaction they were beamed back before she fired, and now in the transporter room Vitor shouted for the others to stand back as he tried to reason with Genkos. But that attempt failed as Genkos struck him with his cane sword, thrusting it through his elbow. Again Nan reacted quickly and he was beamed to Sickbay before securing Genkos.
