Scotty Reade: Difference between revisions

Scotty wanted to join Starfleet from a young age.. His dad came back from a mission and the ship was having a scheduled repair at the Space dock. Due to this timing, Scotty’s mother Amelia took both Scotty and Sam to Luna to meet their dad after a 2-year deep space mission. This was the first time he visited a Starfleet vessel. After seeing the ship, this peeked his interest even more into joining Starfleet. 

 

After the Battle of Sector 335, Scotty's father was forced to retire from Starfleet due to the injuries he sustained during the fight. The ship he was serving on was severely damaged and deemed beyond repair, which was a devastating loss for Starfleet. However, Scotty's father was not one to give up on his passion for engineering, and he decided to become a professor at Starfleet Academy in the Engineering department. Scotty was proud of his father's resilience but couldn't help feeling upset that such a massive ship was destroyed. This difference in opinion caused a slight tear in their relationship, as Scotty's father did not support his desire to join Starfleet. Nevertheless, Scotty was determined to carry on the family tradition, and he decided to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering at MIT. After graduating with a Master's degree, Scotty moved back to Vancouver to be closer to his family. However, his father still did not think that joining Starfleet was the best path for Scotty. This caused Scotty to feel torn between his passion for engineering and his desire to please his father. Eventually, Scotty's father had a change of heart and allowed him to join Starfleet. Scotty applied to the Academy and was accepted, determined to make the most of the opportunity. While at the Academy, he decided to major in Propulsion, which he found fascinating. After graduating, Scotty was assigned to the USS Veritas as an Engineering Officer. He quickly gained a reputation as a passionate and quick-thinking officer who was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and colleagues. Scotty loved meeting new people and was always up for a challenge. He took pride in completing any task assigned to him and was determined to make a difference in the galaxy through his work in Starfleet.
